Common Glow 1.0 · Effective October 24, 2026
This policy describes Common Glow by Herding Labs and how this version handles information. The support and crash-report handling commitments in sections 5 and 7 apply from this policy update forward.
1. The short version
Common Glow is used together on one phone. It does not ask you to type or record your answers. App settings and progress are stored on that device. This version has no account, cloud sync, app analytics SDK or advertising trackers. Support correspondence and Apple-provided crash reports are handled as described below.
2. Information saved on your phone
The app saves your settings, adult confirmation, selected categories and topic preferences, question history and passes, conversation dates and ordinary categories, counts, milestones, keepsakes and optional streak. It also saves which completion messages, tips and milestone reactions have appeared, and when the full-library offer last appeared automatically. These records make selection, reminders and progress features work. They are not recordings or transcripts of your conversations.
Anyone using the phone can see your categories, topics and progress.
3. Storage, backups and retention
Saved app data is held in a local file in the app’s Application Support storage. The app marks that file as excluded from device backups. It does not send your saved conversation records to a Herding Labs server. There is no account, sync or export feature in this version.
The app keeps local records between uses until you reset or erase them, or remove the app. If saved data cannot be read, the app may preserve a recovery copy on the device rather than overwrite it. Erase everything also removes those recovery copies. Removing the app or erasing its data can permanently remove progress. A device backup does not provide an in-app recovery method.
4. Purchases through Apple
The optional full-library unlock is a one-time App Store purchase. Apple handles purchasing and restoring purchases. Common Glow reads product information and verified StoreKit transactions to check whether the full-library purchase is active on your Apple Account. It does not receive your payment card details or put purchase ownership in its saved progress file. Restore purchase restores the library entitlement, not saved progress. Apple may process information through its App Store and operating-system services under its own policies. The absence of an app analytics SDK does not mean Apple’s services process no information. Apple’s services are governed by Apple’s privacy policy.
5. Permissions and other services
Optional reminders use local iOS notifications and require notification permission. You can turn reminders off in the app or manage permission in iOS Settings. Read aloud uses Apple’s speech synthesis to speak question text; it does not record you. The app does not request microphone, contacts or location access.
This version does not include an advertising or app analytics SDK, a tracking permission request, or an account backend. If you choose to share diagnostics with Apple and developers, Apple can make crash reports available through its own services. We use Apple-provided crash reports only to diagnose problems and improve Common Glow’s reliability. We do not join these reports to identifiable users, support emails or device profiles, or use them for advertising or tracking. Apple controls its reporting service and sharing mechanisms; you can manage diagnostic sharing in iOS Settings. See Apple’s reporting documentation. This is separate from an analytics SDK built into Common Glow. Opening a research link takes you to your browser and an external publisher, whose own privacy practices apply.
6. Your controls and deletion
Open Preferences → Your data. Reset question history makes the deck new again while keeping settings and progress. Reset progress clears conversation counts, milestones, keepsakes and streak while keeping settings and question history. Erase everything removes saved settings and progress and returns to onboarding. These actions cannot be undone in the app. They do not cancel or refund an Apple purchase.
7. Support and privacy requests
If you email support, your message includes the address you send from and whatever you choose to share. Do not send private conversation answers or payment card details. For support or questions about this policy, email hello@herdinglabs.com. We use support correspondence only to respond to support requests, maintain Common Glow’s reliability and meet required legal obligations. We do not use it for advertising or tracking. We retain support correspondence and any diagnostic information we hold only as long as reasonably needed to respond to or resolve support issues, maintain reliability, and meet required legal obligations. You may request access, correction, export or deletion by emailing the same address. Local app records can be erased using the in-app controls above.
8. This website
This website is hosted on Vercel. Requests to load it are processed by the hosting service, including technical connection information such as your IP address and the requested page. The Common Glow pages do not include an analytics script, advertising tracker or contact form. Fonts and images are served with the site. See Vercel’s privacy policy for its practices.
9. Adults only
Common Glow is intended for couples who are both 18 or older. It includes adult topics and is not directed to children.
10. Changes and contact
